Wide load permit
well after getting pulled over on the way home last fall decided to get a permit 100.00 and some paper work you also have to send them proof of 500,000 liability insurance. permit is good for 1 year you also have to put tow vehicle and plate # on permit not sure how that would work if you use a different truck and get checked

Billy Joe...I've wondered about the permitting process with Ohio law. What is the width limit that necessitates the permit? I have heard it said that up around the lake they'll usually cut you some slack if you're just moving in or out of storage or going for repairs, I hope that's true. Good luck with your move. Thank you.

We have a 280 proline offshore. 10.5 beam, last time we towed it, it was the same. But they told us what roads we would go and when we could tow it.
I would bet if you had to use a different tow vehicle just a phone call to let them know and update the records would be enough. But if you have questions now I would ask earlyFirst mate for Eyehunter Charters

102 inches wide is legal width , above that requires permit.. need wide load signs and flags on front of vehicle and rear of boat.... biggest problem is if you get side swiped or cause accident without proper signs, flags etc, you probably going to have lawsuit on your hands . I think there is a law that allows you to move your boat if within 5 miles of lake but would check first... my biggest concern still would be the liability .. hope this helps..

Sometimes it is just the luck, my 27 bow rider is 9.5 wide we just pulled it the same way they tell us to take the proline and on the same times. Made it up with no issues. It's not coming back unless something.major goes wrong.
I pulled it all the way from SC with no permits, maybe I got luckyFirst mate for Eyehunter Charters
