Crane reef
Thinking about trying to fish by crane reef this coming Sunday. I just found a can last Saturday. When I was pulling out a guy said the reefs are marked. My question is how would I go about finding crane reef from a can. Is it marked

Maybe someone can chime in with a better answer but mine stays the same as I posted before. I really wouldn't know how to find specific areas on the lake without GPS. You can probably get free GPS on any smart phone. Coordinates for lake locations are easy to find online. If I didn't have GPS I don't know that I'd personally even be able to find A can regularly... I know where it is but on a slightly choppy day or a day with tons of boats out those markers can be really hard to see. Especially the reef markers... Adding: Not to mention that you can feel like you're in the same place out there and be a mile or more off...

You should be able to buy a western basin map for around 10$ at most bait shops. it will have all the reefs marked with depths and your lat. And lon. Assuming you have a cumpus that should be all you need. I did it this way for years before I got a fancy GPS with navionics and lake chip. Gps can fail and it's good to know how to get around without it. Good luck and safe boating !
