Keeping an eye on the weather-
Thank you to all who contribute to make this page a great resource for so many!
What weather apps/websites do you recommend for extended lake forecasts? I assume most of us do not have time to sort through 15 different forecasts to find a quality accurate(generally speaking) marine forecast to plan ahead.
There is probably something I am overlooking, but thanks for the help in advance.
Fair winds & falling seas!

This isn't always the most accurate but this is where I check for waves:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/marine/zo...akes/clemz.htm
This is where I check the satellite images for clarity:
https://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/region_map.html
Those two resources combined with checking wind speed and direction from regular weather apps usually give you a good idea. I always pay attention to the previous day as well. If there is a strong east wind the day before the west side of the lake is likely worse than the reports. As I said with those resources I'm 90% acurate on waves. Only once did I check everything, get to the launch and see all the boats coming back in due to conditions.

I've used windfinder.com the past year and it's been pretty accurate. I use south bass island for location.

I also like the windfinder.com site. I also use heritagecooperative.com-find the weather forecast button and enter the zip code for the area you are interested in. It will give you current radar, weather and forecast. I've found it usually accurate. For Erie conditions and waves I look at tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/raw/fz/fzus61.kcle.glf.le.txt for current lake conditions. This one sometimes is not very accurate so also look at other sites to get an overall picture.

I use an app call iWindsurf. You can zero in on area and review both current and forecast. They offer an upgrade that I didn't take. The app was free.

In my opinion it doesn't get much better than the iWindsurf.com website and app. Forcuses primarily wind direction, mph and gusts through an extended forecast.
