I'm not sure around the islands, but there were about 20 plus boats sitting out from Old Woman Creek just East of Huron. I wasn't fishing at the time and headed to Vermilion for other business, but I couldn't help but wonder when I came back past around 10:30ish...they were still there. Turns out, later that afternoon I ran into a guy with a 14' aluminum boat taking out in Huron. He shows me a cooler that had 80 perch in it (according to him, but it sure was full). He says that'
s where they were catching them in about 24' to 26' fow. Soooo..I tried it there last evening. Ghost town. Only one there for the most part. Caught a few throwbacks and a couple of keepers but nothing like I had anticipated. However, according to a couple of reliable buddies, they have been catching good numbers there since about last Sunday. It's always hit and miss around there this time of year. Good luck to you.
