sounds like we can use 7-9 inch stickbaits in walleye and rainbow trout colors to target them.

A guy I work with was fishing near middle sister this weekend and landed a musky just like that one, he released it. I'm thinking with all of these short walleyes the musky's are out further feeding on them.

Beautiful fish! Most of muskies are smaller. Not to many larger ones like you caught.Discussions on why not many bigger ones caught is tackle too light to bring in.What test line, mono, braid and what was on terminal end since probably didn't have a wire leader on?

I use 30 # braid on the rod. Had a 3 inch Michigan stinger trout color spoon behind a 40 true trip jet with a 7 feet leader of 17 # mono, back 85 feet.

Looks like those muskies will fatten up fast with all those baby walleye.Would be nice if they just ate gobies, sheephead and white perch!

Nice.Figured you had braid on that rod.I also run 17lb fluorocarbon on my leaders.Lucky he didn't cut through that mono though.Must have been a big surprise and good battle to get him in the net.
