Northern Pike?
Few weeks ago someone was asking about Musky on the lake. So how about pike?
I've gotten a few in East Harbor and Middle Harbor and Sandusky bay, but all were caught when I was bass fishing in shallow waters. Biggest was about 30" and would certainly give a garden variety Musky a run for it's money. Have also caught a few longnose gar in the shallows of the harbors. Chain pickerel too, about 18-20." Probably 2-3 of each over the years.
I'd imagine that the open waters wouldn't do much for pike, but would have to think that some of the shallows near the islands might be productive, especially in weedy areas.
Anyone ever get pike while bass fishing, or possibly walleye fishing in the shallows?Last edited by jonk; 06-15-2016 at 01:59 AM.
