Question on trolling Bandits
I have been fishing on the lake for about 10 years but never fished for walleye until late may. For my usual set up I run big boards with spoons behind jets. This year I have the opportunity to get after the walleye a little earlier. I see that many people are having success trolling bandits. That is all new to me. When trolling bandits can I still use big boards? Do I still need to use jets? Also is there a diving chart or does anyone know what amount of line will put the bandit at what depth? For example 100 feet of line will put the bandit at approximately what depth? I am also open to any tips or suggestions. Thanks!

Yes you can use the big boards I use them all the time with great success. You can use jet divers with shallow running bandits or P10 but not with a deep diving crank bait. As for depth chart there is a app by precision trolling you can get on your smartphone.

I don't have my trolling guide at home, but if I recall I think 100 is getting close to that 18,19, 20 ft range. Depending on speed of course

With deep Bandits, 80' feet back gets 17' depth, 117' back gets 20' depth

I know 30/30 with 1 oz of weight at 1.7 gets you close to 25-27 ft because I was catching some perch on mine while I was walleye fishing. Had to be near the bottom I would think. I'm still try to figure them out too!
