ideal wind
Hello, can anybody tell me what the best wind direction is for fishing the islands is. I hate to waste an hour and 1/2 drive for big waves.. thanks

Typically I fish which ever side of the islands I can get out of the waves or winds. Alot of the time the run out is the roughest part. There are soooo many areas to fish just look at the wind speeds, direction and go from there. No different than Brestbay except alot more areas to fish.
I can only hope I have earned the freedom that has been given me.

Wind direction
If you are fishing between the islands or just around them , you can hide alittle but the direction can change in a hurry. South and Westerly lite winds are better for small boats. I use a website call Windfinder.com and just enter Port Clinton as the location. It gives the hour forecast and is normally close. It has been right on as far out as 5 - 6 days. Give me a call if you are not sure. Just always lead to the side of safety.
