anyone know where serial numbers are on 351 merc's are located , need to title in ohio , mich titles don' t have eng. # thanks dave

Most Mercruisers are located above the starter on a plate that is rivited to the block. That is only true if it still has the original motor installed.

There should be one cast into the block also, if you know who made the block/engine such a Ford or GM you should be able to find out where on the block to look. I take that it is a Ford block as it is a 351. Here is a good place to start asking, they are a great bunch of guys. You have to join then ask away its free and you will most likely will get a good answer.
