Bob, I use the OR-39s with braid and Off Shore boards. They work great when the line doesn't catch on a screw, nut, or tattle flag. They are a bit pricey. I also installed a Hawg Outdoors rear retainer clips on all my boards for added gear security. I have no experience with Ugly Duck clips. If you have success, let me know. I tried Amish Outfitter knock off OR-39s. They are cheap, but barely functional. I do not recommend.
