[West Basin]

Ice fishing has resumed off the West side of South Bass Island. That ice tends to stay locked in when it gets real thick, such as this winter. Next two weeks forecast has plenty of well below freezing nights, and numerous cold days (highs in the mid 30's). That ice fishing looks to go on for another two weeks. Mainland access for ice fishing is probably done for the season. Lots of open water around the shoreline. We'll see if anyone finds some "safe" ice access, but for now it looks like the Mainland access ice fishing is done for the season.
