Lake Erie Shores And Islands web cam is at the Catawba Island Club, west side of Catawba. It looks out NW over the Lake, pretty much straight out from the Catawba State Park boat launch ramp. The shanties and people ice fishing you see are out where the Green Buoy would be in the warm season. Depending on ice conditions, people will go straight west, NW, N, or around Catawba Point toward South Bass Island. As far as they can "safely" go, or where the fish are being caught. All depends on the ice conditions. People park at the State Park, with trailers for ATVs and snowmobiles. Access the Lake from the shore beach. After the fishing gets going, often "safe" paths are marked out across the ice to where the fishing is happening. Local guides help with this.
As always, make sure you check the local conditions and never go out on the ice unless you are completely prepared.
You can also see some ice fishing on the Perry Monument web cams as well as the Ohio State Stone Lab web cams.
