We fished on a charter on Wednesday about 4 miles nw of North Bass, near the war memorial. Got our limit of eaters in about 3 hours. spoons and flicker shads. The black flies were the worst I've ever seen. I didn't see much evidence of mayfly carcasses on the water.
Yesterday 3 of us went north of Kelleys and only got one eater in about 2 hours. There were lots of fish in the area until we moved out into the deeper 45 foot water, then nothing. There were lots of mayfly carcasses on the water and they showed on my fish finder. . I think the fish were feeding on the mayflies. No biting flies Thursday.
