Here's a post for Sturgeon Pt. from the 24th on another site...
Fished Sturgeon point from 11 till dark. Ruff walk getting pass the shove ice . Best path I found was little going south west out of the harbor. Fell a little short of the fishing grounds. Hunkered down in 48'. First fish was a 20" Walleye. Caught about 15 or so perch most were only 9-10" 1 was 12" .Packed up about 4 for the long walk in. Wind opened up some of the cracks out there. Large opening about 30' wide over 1/4 mile long. It starts at about 43' of water and heads towards shore south west of the harbor. There is another large crack not nearly as wide about 3 or 4oo yrd. north of the wide crack pretty much straight out of port. Thankfully the ice in between the large cracks was fair. Had to step over a few small cracks and walk around a few others. The large open spot south west of port is pretty much the trail a four wheeler used last night I could see your tracks in places. When it locks back up that will probably be the best route to the fishing grounds. While heading out this morning a box of a couple hundred jigs bounced out of my sled please keep your eyes open for them. I will put a post in the other section also. Better give it a few more days after the wind dies down to head out. Be safe and check with a spud often. The spot that opened up was 6" of black ice when I headed out. Where I fished it was about 10" of white ice.
It sounds like Sodus bay has good ice, but the catchin' is a little slow.
I'm going to wait until Thursday for the cracks to freeze, and try out of Sturgeon.
Look for this if your out there....

Bill
When the cold winds blow and we're covered up in snow,
I’ll be on the ice a' Fishin’, down through a hole.
When the ice goes out and the days get hot
I’ll be out there a fishin’, in the same damn spot.
