Need advise on kicker/Aux motor shaft length. I'll be buying a Mercury 9.9 Bigfoot prokicker. It will be mounted directly to the transom (port Side) will not be using a mounting bracket. installing on an 18.5' crestliner. question is (20" or 25" shaft). Boat is only used on Erie. Thanks

Fishon - Take a few measurements. You do not want it in the water when you are on plane. It will cause a lot of drag and the prop will rotate (if in neutral) or if in gear cause more drag along with the skeg. Mine is just slightly above the water when on plane. I agree with Fishkiller for rough water. If you are buying it from a dealer he can stear you in the right direction. I should see you tomorrow. Keep in mind that when adding the added weight the transom will sit slightly lower in the water.
Thanks for the feed back guys.
Joe, Buying online, saving a lot. I got two different opinions from the WNY dealers so I thought I'd look for advise here. Seeya tonight.

Bailey- where were you last night? Many thought you were going to the South Towns Walleye Meeting yesterday?
