Radio channels

I have a ship to shore radio, what are the channels I need to listen to? I have heard channel 16 is the emergency channel for notices, are there other channels I need to monitor why on the lake? Is there a certain channel for weather?

I use channel 79. Some use channel 68. Weather is channel 2. If there is a weather alert, it usually pops on by itself, to warn boaters of an approaching storm.
