Perch fishing using artificals

From what I have read, everyone uses live minnows for perch. But how many on here use artifical bait and if so, what baits are the most productive?

When I need to catch jumbo perch I will slip on a clear or pepper crappie size tube up the hook, and still tip with minnows,
sometimes it makes a real difference.

I was up 4th of July weekend, decided to try making some cable leader harnesses. Well the wife decided she wanted to help. Go figure the one she made caught 90% of the fish the next day. Beginner's luck, women's intuition, call it whatever you want. She was insufferable the rest of the trip.
