I am trying to plan a coho trip to Lake Michigan next Spring and would like some advice. I am looking for a place with ramps and nearby hotels or camping, either Indiana or Michigan and sometime mid April to mid May? I have all my walleye gear ie, planer boards, dipsys, jets, down riggers. I hauled my Lake Erie walleye boat to St. Joe's,Benton Harbor couple of years ago in July trying for salmon but nada. Any suggestions would be appreciated, last time I launched at Benton Harbor, nice ramp and tackle shop but neighborhood was a little sketchy. Any suggestion for a safe place to stay for a couple weekdays with lake access and tackle would be welcome. Thanks in advance for any help.
