Paradise
I am no longer camping, so I moved my boat just across the bridge to Beef Creek Marina, I am in slip 44. I would love to meet you and talk some fishing. I may even slip over to your Marina also as I would like to meet you.
It has been a tuff year for me also, nothing like yours though. The wife and I moved my 91yr. old mother in with us in the middle of August, she had been living independent but was starting to have some issues on her own. We never got back out fishing the rest of the year due to some health issues with my mother but have hopefully got those resolved for at least the near future. But when you are 91 things can turn sour quickly, so with that in mind I am looking forward to a better year in 2015.Wakina

As we age
As we age , we realize that our parents need help sort of like we did when we were young. Lost my mother a week ago and father in-law was buried in April. Now we are constantly having to check on the other parent and make sure the dont forget things like finance and medical. So I know what you are dealing with. Stay active and live life to the full extent that you can !

winter trips
Wintertime trolling is paying off for a few guys. Only a few miles offshore on the calm days are giving up a nice grade of walleye. Slow trolling stickbaits for suspended eyes off Huron, Kellys and Cedar Point.
I will wait 3 months till I get back on the water for jig season.
Various dates scattered each month of the season available to book.
Call to reserve your date or a weekend get away.
Oak Harbor, West Harbor to fish Canadian waters and Geneva.
Oak Harbor area we can fish some of Canadian waters during mid summer to fish the small islands and rocky reefs just over the line.
Spring is coming but ice fishing is looking 50/50 chance.
Happy New Year to all !

This has been a great jig season ! Each trip out has been good to great, depending on the screwed up weather the entire month. Throwing back alot of undersize fish and do alittle experimenting with other types of jigging lures. They worked well one day. This past weekend was bare jigs on Friday and then Saturday was cancelled for windy conditions.
With the water temp coming up and this weeks wind I think the end of jigging is near, so the worms will get pulled across the bottom for a few weeks until the eyes rise up. Most of this month , the jigs needed to be slow lift and fall with short hops. Friday the wanted it either high hops like 2ft up then med drop speed or cast it bounce around the swing. I have 3 open weekend dates in May for morning trips and June is open for afternoon trips (3-9pm) only. July has 2 Sundays open later in the month.

July and August provided some nice fishing and decent coolers of walleye. West end and Central basins both had good action.
Now that summer is basically over, its time for classic yellow perch fishing in the western basin. The algea has subsided alittle and the water just started to cool off over the last week. I was in Geneva/Ashtabula for the weekend for walleye and was very good as we stuffed the cooler to place well in the Pro Div. for the annual Wine and Walleye Fest on Saturday. Western basin , my neighbors at camp did well all weekend with perch one neighbor had limit of perch and walleye both. Call to book a trip before its all over.Last edited by gregnwtf; 08-24-2015 at 03:17 PM.

April jig season is going fantastic ! All limits this past weekend with my longest running crew from Aurora Ill. Sunday had limit in 2 hours of fast netting. This coming Saturday is looking nice for light winds. I have an opening for this Saturday afternoon 5 1/2 hour trip , leave dock at 3pm fish until twilight for $550. Al gear onboard, just bring a sandwich and a few beers and we are good. Friday May 5th is open for either a morning or afternoon trip. Morning 8 hour trips are 600 bucks. All gear provided on a 30 Sportcraft ! Rod in hand jig fishing is really on fire, dont miss out.

June was good for trolling. All trolling trips produced 25-48 walleye each trip. Good month till the big wind and heavy rain hampered the bite for every boat from the islands to Mich. I am back at it this Thurs eve, Friday Sat and Sunday now that vacation time is over. Should be good with calm winds forecasted.
