it was buffalo police and i was alone and was scarced that if i took pictures of what they were doing they beat me up and damage my boat. i spoke with capt joe who i've known for many yrs. and he told me he had heard they were out onthe lake friday. i don't mind them doing their job but they told me shut the engines down and don't touch the key.maybe news 4 action will help.also at the cleaning station at sunset bay, they made other boats take all their fish out of the cooler to ck. size. this i found out when i brought my boat in at hanover. they summons me for 4 expired flairs and ask me if ihad a gun on board or knife. i said my flay knife for cleaning fish. they want my fire extinguisher mounted not in the compartment. they ruined my day fishing and got skunked, thanks to them.walmart has flairs in n.tonawanda for 31 .00 if anybody needs them

First of all that's waaaay out of their jurisdiction. I woulda told them to go f themselves. They can't just board your boat without probable cause. Just like they can't start going through your car. They should always ask if they may board your vessel. Unless they see something bad or your driving wrecklessly and drinking, ect. Also they are NOT the dec. They have Absolutly no right to look at and measure your fish. They couldn't write you a ticket if they wanted to. That's a dec officers job ONLY. Lol we got stopped by border patrol one day. Asked to see our life jackets, nothing else. Then asked to see our fish. Then he harrassed me about why I wasn't fishing. I said I was rebaiting my line. Then asked to see our fishing licenses. Well I have my super sportsman in my back tag. So I hold it up and he goes take it out and show me your licence. I said that's all you need to see. We argued. I took it out. And let a 3 ft of tags hang down. Then he goes point to your fishing lisence. I point to my back tag number again. Then we got arguing about it, and I finally told him to shove it and that he was harrass ing us and if he had a problem with me and fishing to get on the radio and call the dec to come out. They just drove away. We were fishing the line that day.
My buddy stopped over last night and said the cops have been brutal this yr. buffalo police too. He got stopped by niagara co sheriffs in the river. Said they were stopping every boat like a check point. They wrote him a ticket for having a small rip in a foam filled life jacket. Mind you he had 4 vests aboard and only two people. He's pissed. Said he's fighting it in court.

I really bet it gets thrown out. Those guys are way out of their boundary. Literally they patrol the outer harbor. I don't even see them in the river cause that's sheriff n coast guard territory. The coast guard guys have always been cool with us. I used to know the Erie and niagara sheriffs that patrolled the waters but they are retired now. Lol that would be like bpd pulling you over in your vehicle in east auroura. Lmao. You should threaten the city with a lawsuit.

Make sure you take pictures of your boat and line. Also if you have GPS cords where you were at the time right them down. Glad I haven't been out. I'm not nice to A holes. Especially when they are in the wrong. We should all be a band of pirates and gang up on bpd lol.

Years ago. Many years ago. My uncle would take me out in his boat with my father. This only happened a few times a year. It didn't happen enough but I was addicted. I finally bought a boat 1976. Took boating courses and tough what a great way to get out there in nature and get away from everything and relax. Just to bounce around and enjoy nature was great. You had checks that happened but nothing serious. In today's world it's all about making money and people justified their jobs. Then the politicians etc. can give out more patronage jobs. It's not like it use to be. Boaters cared about each other and rendered help when needed. Now we live in a " I got ya " world by gov. and law enforcement. We as boaters and fishermen need to keep all that's good alive.

flairs are my fault but to say shut down your motor with fishing lines out and sea anchors and show vengence when i said i have to reel my lines in.and then demand i shut my engines down and don't touch the key is bs. my lines were a tangled mess and along with my sea anchors. then to ask me if i have a gun. i'm going to see if the sturgeon point sportsman's can draft up a letter to send to the proper channels in albany. we did this yrs.ago on another matter with positive results. i plead not guilty reason being i want answers why i was treated like a terroist. flairs are my fault. but fishing lines ,sea anchors and terrorizing me are not my fault. i put my bumpers out and that made them madder. capt joe knows how i take care of my 3o yr. old larson boat. not a scratch on it and mechanically 100% by yours truly. i take pride in what i own and they said i was to nervous. its not theirs and they don't care. they stated the fishing lines were my problem. that told me they don't care. we have to as sportsmens stand up for our rights or they will take them away. they should be happy we fish, hunt and enjoy life.they want to see us unhappy in my opinion. their not going to stop me from fishing

Default You are mistaken , not BPD

Buffalo Police has an Underwater Recovery Team. They work out of Erie Basin. They have a grey , center console with twin yamaha 225's. That is the only boat they have. They don't work outside the City of Buffalo shoreline , unless an emergency came up as in call for mutual aid. I think you are mistaken.

Jerky, I will vouch for how well maintained your boat is because I was the one at the fish cleaning station when you came back into the Catt. After venting Jerky parked his boat over on the side of the parking lot and COMPLETLY dried the entire boat. Very nice boat Jerky! sorry about the ticket.
