Lowrance elite 7 hdi, help !

i had sim problem with dif unit called lowrance and asked to talk to tech she walked me thru steps by phone as i sat in boat very helpfull problem solved nice to have some one to talk to reeltime good luck

New problem , Now the unit turns off randomly, I can turn it back on but the have to reboot it like starting all over again. Anyone else have this problem? I also heard the elite 5 does this same thing. I should have kept my 20 yr old LMS. !

Lineman I would double check your connections to make sure they are clean and tight. Maybe a wire is crimped or weakened. Check your grounds too, and battery connections. Does it happen when starting engine, or rough ride etc? I think the newer electronics are a little more sensitive to voltage variations.

What I was told is that the lawrance imaging sonars overheat and then have issues

Did what all you guys suggested. Tried to down load the updates which didn't work. e-mailed Lowrance & told them their products suck along with their update down loads that don't work!(got no response) Called west marine told them my problems they exchanged & gave me a new unit which worked great all day with no problems & I love it! So far so good. Thanks for all the ideas.
