Took the Grandson out yesterday for his first fishing trip with me this year. We launched out of SP and headed nw 8.5 miles to 73 fow. Same spot I went last 2 times. We didn't get out there till noon but managed 10 eye's. All were 18"-24". Lots of silvers yesterday. The last 2 times out I hardly hit any silvers, but they were out in force yesterday. Was proud of the kid...he didn't lose any he was bringing in and netted a couple of mine with ease. He's becoming a great fish'n partner. Even had him running the riggers on his own after a little instruction. It was a "Great Day" on the water for this granpa yesterday!

Went out today with a some what rookie. He fished with me before but it w as a few years ago. A nephew. We started out it was a little bumpy. We caught 10. I said do you wanta go in he said let's go for 2 more. We ran out of worms and started using Rynowskis. He was picking up the program pretty well. We caught a silver bass. He went to net it I said no . No net. To late. The plug was in the net good. He tried getting it out. After a while he said I don't feel good. He chummed 2 x. In we go. 10 the final number.

Boxed 8 yesterday and dropped one lifting it out of the water (should have used the Net)
off the Catt. 72 FOW. dipsy's with harnesses, All fish were small nice eaters. Last time out, pulled all walleye gear off the boat, ready for some perching.
wackyracer maybe you could post a picture of the harness hook rigging you say works so good.Last edited by Anchor Wheel; 09-19-2015 at 01:34 PM.

Here is an older video from Ross showing the hooks and how to tie them....He uses different leader material now (20# Seaguar Blue Label) then what he recommends in this older video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmVU06nSHf8
Also when reeling in keep the tip of the pole up high, do not pump it...I see a lot of fisherman pumping the pole (I was guilty of that until Ross set me straight) ....that takes the tension off the line and then you may loose the fish.
This treble hook on the bottom: Gamakatsu Round Bend Treble Size #6 (47107-25)
The single hook above is a: Gamakatsu Octopus Hooks (Red) #2 I believe this is the model but not positive (02310-25) the -25 indicates a 25 packLast edited by Wackyracer; 09-20-2015 at 11:09 AM.

If you don't have it get the book "Walleye trolling" Ross Robertson helped write it. Loads of info in it with tons of pictures and illustrations.
Here is nice article Ross just wrote on late summer early fall walleye fishing http://www.scout.com/outdoors/wired2...es-in-the-fallLast edited by Wackyracer; 09-19-2015 at 05:22 PM.
