    Default Post-spawn

Well, I may be wrong, but I believe that the fish that we catch in front of Hoaks in May are always in the post-spawn & pre-summer phases. I think that they slowly move away from the spawning areas, and then hang out off of the flats to munch on spawning baitfish. With the water temps only in the mid- to upper-40s, I think that is still too early for the good night bite.

Spring came early this year, and the lake didn't freeze, but we can't be so far ahead of schedule that we have completely passed by the shallow water, rapala night bite.

I think (hope!) that we are still ~1 week in front of the good night bite vs. beyond it.

    Default nite success

you will probably be able to go out this weekend and pick up a few , I think we are another week or 2 from the really hot bite to get rolling. I have found that the water temp has to be in the 50s for the hot bite !!

Oh boy the idiots last night! It was like trying to fly the millenium falcon through an asteroid field. Everyone was going every which way at any given time! Some people I think we're trolling for musky in the prop wash they were going so fast. Anyway. Slow night. Any good numbers of fish caught came of the very top of the hump in 3 fow off end windmills. Heard a few were taken shallow by hamburg beach. Water is 53 54 degrees in that end.

I was in the asteroid field last night. From 6:00 to 10:30. I was out of the windmills / woodlawn then trolled towards the Woodlawn reef. Made asure few passeshours on thethe outsiderefrigerator then trolledit past smokesyou creek. Frst time out in the new boat and had to get familiar with it. Oh yeah no fish.
