Fairport Smallmouth
Has anyone had any luck fishing for smallies in the Fairport area? If so, what is a good location, technique, and time of day? Thanks!

fairport smallies
I have my boat docked at htp which is to the east of the beach. If your not catching em on beds close to the rocks- try about 1 mile east of beach and start in 15 feet and work back. Been catchin nice ones on walleye jigs tipped with minnows and tube jigs in black and green. been out 3 times and hit em every time but in different depths. A week ago it was 15 feet and thurs it was 18 ft through 22. I think they may move deeper when the lake is flatter. As always, go early.

Thanks for the tip! Are you drifting or trolling? Any luck with live baits like crayfish? Planning on getting out tomorrow - let you know how I do.
