Erie, PA Walleye
Fished last two Saturdays from Walnut to Crooked Creek in 25 to 40 FOW. The only action we had was a few smallmouth and sheephead. Pulling cranks, worm harnesses and spoons behing dipseys and jets. Are the walleye in deeeper water? ... or has the weather impacted the catch rate and fish location? Anyone catching walleye regulary off Walnut or Elk Creek areas in number?

This is what I know
On Sunday June 14th I fished from the Ohio line to Godfrey.
Fished from 7am till around 11:30.
Covered the water between 25 and 39 feet using cranks and crawler hanesses. No eyes. Heard one boat had 1.
Supposedly someone the night before did 11 eyes, but that is just heresay, who knows. Fishing for eyes at the moment is still about as slow as it ever gets. There were only a handful of boats working the area as well. Which is usually a sign in itself. If you find boats everywhere it usually means they are catching fish. With the way things have been with this spring weather we are still probably a week or two away from any reasonable level of activity.
Water temp where I was at was now up to 63.
Sometimes I have heard of guys trolling around where the guys are catching perch. Walleyes are sometimes there feeding on perch or the baitfish schools. Although I think most of the fish are still in Ohio.

Water is much warmer, walleye are here
Fished Saturday June 27th.
Trolled for eyes from around 7:30am - 1pm. Picked up 4.
Deep reef runner's some 180 back, some 150 back off the boards. Good reports of other people getting eyes all along
PA's coastline. We were around the Peninsula in 30 - 36' of water.
Then when the walleye bite slowed down we perch fished
in 51' of water between the condos and the lighthouse.
Picked up 52 perch till we ran out of minnows.
Then trolled for about an hour around 6:30pm picked up a 30" walleye in 48' of water off the peninsula. Same program, deep reef runner 180 back off the boards.
Water temp we measured was 72 degrees. Hugh leap from the 62 degrees we measured two weeks ago.

Fished out of Ashtabula July 4, 2009. Very rough in the morning. Pulled harnesses behing the riggers and spoons with dipseys in 35 to 70 FOW. Picked up two walleye in close 35 FOW. Did not mark many fish anywhere. Appear to be spread out. Radio reports fish another 10 to 15 miles west in 70FOW off the Perry Nuke Plant.
Will be out again this weekend. Not sure where to go.

Erie, PA Walleye
Thinking about Walnut Creek this weekend and some much anticipated walleye action. Any suggestions on where to begin? Sounds like the fish are west of the nut in 30 to 40 FOW. Whats hot?
Thanks to all who reply.

Peckeye, wondering how you did. I was fishing the 7th - 9th. fishing was slow for us. got a few near racoon creek and by elk creek on the 7th. Picked up a few by the dump and off the perch pack by the point on the 8th, did better on the 9th even though a short day because we had to heaqd home fishing from the W's to north east. All fish were found in the 40's to low 50's. i'll be back up Wednesday. Do you hae anything to report.

RAW
Have not been fishing for two weeks due to weather and family commitments. Plan on fishing out of Walnut this weekend weather permitting. We are really overdue for some heavy action. What are the hot color combinations?
