    Default Geneva 7/19….Finally!!

We finally got the first trip to Geneva this morning. Headed out North to 60FOW and got set up. Trolled NNE to 72FOW. 3 man limit. A few of them were 17-19. Started hitting the bigger ones once we got out to 70. 22 inchers and a handful of 24-26”. Lost 5 or 6 bringing them in and threw back 5 or 6 shorts. One sheep and a 16” steelhead. 3 oz weights with chrome bandits, and any crank bait in fire tiger or clown. 3.75” fire tiger spoons off dipseys caught the biggest fish. We caught fish suspended in 25-35FOW and in 50-60 so we ran shallow and deep at the same time. Biggest fish of the day was a spoon off a dipsey only 65 back at zero setting. So she was suspended at 35 feet in 72FOW. We marked tons of fish everywhere and what looked like bait balls and perch schools too. Fantastic day on the water and the lake was perfect.

Nicely done as usual Budman! The bigger ones are moving deeper it appears. I also marked a lot of bait and the fish were right on them. Like you....fish suspended at times mid water column and then a lot closer to bottom at times. Incredible fishing indeed😁

I have a few friends that are also spanking them over here in Western NY at Barcelona. May give that a day trip soon as it's only 1.5 hours from home.

    Stay safe man!

That’s great! Some of my buddies fishing out of Walnut and Northeast marinas in PA have also been crushing them. It’s hard to imagine a lake spanning 3 states continues to produce the catch rates that it does year after year. I just read the ODNR walleye report and they estimate there is 150 million legal walleye in Lake Erie. That’s almost double since 2022 with everyone crushing them day after day. We are really blessed to have a fishery like this for years to come.
