Headed out to 65 FOW north out of the marina. Not many marks at all but set up anyway. Cranks off 3 ounce snaps 160-220 back and dipseys straight out the back at 130 on 0 setting with wormburners on. Bites were slow til about 9:30. When we hit 72-75 FOW the bite started along with the hatch! We got crushed mayflies! We were covered and so was the boat but the the eyes turned on too! Didn’t mark many fish but they were there and wanted nothing but meat so we changed some cranks out for wormburners off tru trip 50s and 40s 150 back and 170 back. Got a couple nice 23-25 inchers and mostly 17-19 inchers. 3 man limit by 1:30-2:00. Had a typical slow down around lunch time and then finished our limit off. Lake was dead calm. Perfect day if not for the 3 hour hatch. Heard a few guys on the radio having slow days too in the morning. Definitely a weird year for walleye fishing. We have had to put some work in to get limits this year. Guess we tend to get spoiled when the bites on week after week.
