Geneva Walleye 8/20
My wife and I headed out late morning to give it our first try at trolling. Can't learn if you don't try I suppose. Ran out north until we hit 70fow and began trolling NNE util we were in 75fow and trolled back. First keeper was 30"-10lbs. Put another 6-pounder in the box along with several 16"-19". Running bandits and spoons on #1 dipsy divers. Two on #1 setting 140-160' back, and two on #3, 200-220' back. Bandits seemed a bit more popular, but color didn't seem to matter. All things considered, we couldn't ask for a better day, since we had never tried it before. Only had one tangle episode when 3 went off at once, so that was a bit of a challenge for just the two of us newbies. Hope to try it again soon.

I've never fished that area and been thinking about trying soon. How far offshore did you have to go to get to 70'?
Thanks

I forgot to reset the trip meter on GPS, but we were out about 12 to 15 miles. Bait shops can probably tell you for sure. We only have an 18' PolarKraft, so we want to be sure it is a nice day when going out that far.
