Need advice on a kicker
Need a kicker for a Lund 17' Prosport running a 90 elpto. You can buy a Nissan 9.9HP long shaft 4-Stroke much cheaper than a Mercury. (about $1K cheaper) Are the Nissan's decent motors??

Save your $
Nissan makes a great motor. Pretty good vehicle too.

Go with a 4 stroke kicker
Sounds like your boat is newer, but not wanting to assume, is your motor oil injected? If so go with a 4 stroke kicker. Nissan does make a great motor and I believe they are all 4 stroke motors. If you buy a 2 stoke and you main motor is 4 stroke then you'll have to have an external tank and mix your oil. It'll be a pain. You can run an oil injected 2 stroke main motor and a 4 stroke off of the same tank. That is how my boat is set up. And it works great.
