Mazurik lot was at least half full yesterday. Ice floes some logs and empty shotgun shells floating common. Found two large schools off Marblehead. Had trouble getting them to bite but when they did we limited out in 90 minutes. Great start to the year. Color didn’t seem to matter. 60-120 back all worked but most bites came between 80-120 back

Thanks for your report...but, what was your speed?

I did better at 1.1 than my starting speed of 1.6 yesterday around Kelleyes.

That is very cool that they are putting in a fish cleaning station. Thank you for mentioning that. Would you happen to know if there are any plans to do something similar at Catawba? It would be great to be able to at least cut and skin quickly at the end of each day before returning to the hotel. I could pack smaller coolers and save a lot on ice too for multi-day trips. Thank you for all of your great posts!

I haven't heard anything about one going in at Catawba, yet. Only Mazurik's and Huron, that I know of. I think I heard Avon was getting one, too, but I can't confirm that one.

Thank you Capt. Hey, when do you start running your charters this season? I could use some lessons. I also have a friend that wants to buy and set up a boat. I'm thinking going to a Capt. Juls walleye school day would be a very smart investment
