What ever you do stay away from sleep inn suites port Clinton. Not fisherman, family or wallet friendly. You will pay for breakfast and may or may not get it.

Tibbels Marina has inexpensive rooms.

Stayed at the Best Western in Port Clinton a few weeks back when we were out fishing, $59 weeknights and $69 weekends. Definitely will stay there again.

I would not stay at the super 8 in port Clinton. Took my first trip to Erie last year. The parking lot was mostly a deep lake. You had to back the boat in over the curb to a small grass and gravel area behind the motel.

i've stayed at these three and would rank them in this order... Quality inn, Best western, Super 8. Stayed at quality inn and best western this year, both have friendly staff , are clean , decent breakfast , and plug in for batteries, what put the quality inn at the top for me is that they have a fish cleaning station.... just my opinion.
