Walleye and the Algea Bloom
Caught 7 nice walleye SW of middle island Saturday afternoon / evening on Michigan stinger spoons up high 20 to 35 back on 40 Jets. Popular colors were pink and purple or perch colors.
Water has cleared all over significantly in the past two days. Unfortunately there was significant Algea further west from where we caught the fish. We marked a lot of fish, but bite was still very slow.
We tried carrying our speed from 1.8 mph to 3.0 to get them to go. 2.5 seemed the best but only caught 7.
Only caught two white bass and no sheep head, so marks were likely mostly walleye.Last edited by Drifter; 07-05-2015 at 07:33 AM.
