Insurance?
I have Tow Insurance through boat U.S. and was wondering if any of you guys use them to insure your boat as well or if you use your local agent. Just trying to see whats out their and what you experienced boaters prefer? Sorry if this post is out of line here but lets face it who looks at the other threads lol

I have a agreed value insurance policy on my boat thru worldwide marine insurance. Could you replace your boat for what your insurance would value it at ????? I doubt many could. If you don't have a agreed value policy I suggest you talk to someone who can set you up with one. I went with Bob Luellen and even if you don't get it thru Bob, he will give all the important info you really need to know about marine insurance. If I have a loss today, I get the price we agreed on when my policy was setup, not what JOE at state farm thinks my boat is worth now.

Believe it or not Progressive was the lowest rate for my boat insurance even though I have multiple cars, motorcycle and 2 homes insured with Erie insurance they couldn't compete with Progressive on the boat. Progressive includes tow and has vanishing deductible. In fact, a couple of years ago some line got tangled up in my prop and cut the seal out and the loss of fluid caused the upper drive unit to fail. I had a $500 tow bill and a $3000 plus mechanical bill and it didn't cost me a penny out of pocket! $173.00 a year full coverage including trailer and the boat retailed around $35,000 when I bought it new.

I'm another one insured through World Wide Marine. I have used them for the last 10 years. You owe it to yourself to give Bob a call to talk to him about marine insurance, and I'm sure you will learn much about it you didn't know.
I use State Farm for my house and two vehicles, but I leave the boat in Bob's hands. I get the peace of mind in knowing that if anything ever happens, there will be no surprises, or excuses, when it comes to getting it taken care of or replaced.
