I am a new member of this site and happen to be Canadian. Great site and very helpful info. I have fished derbies in the Dunkirk NY area after hauling my boat there. In that area of the lake it is not uncommon to wander back and forth across the border line on the lake while trolling. When I crossed the land border I informed your border agents what I would be doing. They seemed to really not care as long as I did not make landfall in Canada while fishing from the US side. If you (US Boaters) enter Canadian waters while fishing but have no intention to make land there will be little issue but there is phone numbers in the attached link to call. There is rarely an issue in the open waters of lake Erie. If you fish the upper Niagara River or the St. Clair and Detroit Rivers, best to be calling.
