first time on ice

hey guys, i am finally going to make my first ice trip, i am going out next monday with a fellow that has been on the ice a couple times before. I have my fingers crossed. I dont have much for lures yet i plan on picking some up before the trip. I was at Bass Pro in Rossford the other day and they were cleaned out lol. could you guys give me some advice as to what type lures or colors i should be looking for. I appreciate any tips or advice you can give a newbie to the ice. thank you and as always be safe out their. Also will i be better off with my 4 wheeler or snowmobile?

The most common lures are jigging rapalas size 5 and 7
Little Clios, Do jiggers, and swedish pimples and buckshots
there are many others that work as well
I like to run a second hole with some kind of blade bait or rattlin rap
to make a little noise to draw them in when it is slow Just give it an ocassional jig and let it sit 6 feet or so up when the fish show up work your lure with the bait GOOD LUCK stay safe

Rickards bait shop has all the lures you need. They will be open by 6am on Monday morning. Where are you going out of? I'm thinking of going back up on Monday also and don't want to go alone.

thanks for the help guys, i am meeting a guy up their in the morning. I have no idea as to where we will be going out of but if you want to pm me your phone number i will be more than happy to let you know where im on the ice and how we are doing. I am suppose to meet him around 6 am I think he said he gets his bait at A&J's.
