With under water camera. Fish would just kiss the bait if you can't see it happen you missed your shot
I know this is a walleye forum but I've watched bluegill do it ice fishing and its crazy how you're whole jig can disappear and be spit out so fast without any movement of your line or rod tip. Sneaky little suckers.
I prefer my vexilar flasher but with not actually seeing what the fish are doing made it a little tuff to catch them so I switched to the camera and it made all the difference. Now just need to find out where the big girls are holding up. I did about a 20 mile circle looking for the fish before I found some.
A buddy and I went out of Camp Perry about 5:45 am Saturday. We went out several miles, approx 3//4 miles NE of "E" can. 27 FOW. Sonar marking several fish, and caught 4 with in the first hour. The bite stopped, didn't catch anything for about 2 hours, so moved another mile straight north. No fish found for an hour, moved again a mile west, no marked fish there. GPS back to same holes we caught the fish, and started to hit again.. It seemed to be every 4 fish we marked, we would catch 1.
I text the GPS location back to the group text, not sure if anyone got it, but no one showed up.
anyway ended up with 9 fish for the day -
4 – between 8-9lbs
1 – 7 lbs
1 – 6 lbs
3 – 2-4lbs
Sunday, GPS took us right back to the same holes, had another 4 fish by noon -
1 – 8 lbs
3 – 2- 4 lbs
P.S. Sorry for the poor quality pictures, from my cheap cell phone. The good pictures are on my buddies phone, which are currently not accessible, sitting at the bottom in 27 FOW .. lol
That's a hell of a pile of fish there, Wiggler! Congrats and that you for the pics.
How far out and in what direction is E can from Catawba? Is there an Erie map that I could find that would have the "CAN" locations? Thanks for any info.
