Back home in SC we fish out of kayaks on the high tide to catch these. Funny, this one didn't have a spot on the tail. Managed one eye and trash out near gull this afternoon trolling. Good times on a GREAT lake

Are those reds good to eat ? Looks like our sheephead up here, kinda like a carp tasting, makes good poor mans lobster bisque though. Mike

When cooked properly them Reds rival the tatse of walleye!! but when you can catch a couple hundred perch you cant beat that. the bite has been good on the dumping grounds off cedar point. we killed them a week ago and even this week tickets in a few hours. hope this helps.
