Pelee
I am planning to fish the Pelee Island area this Thursday to Saturday and I have not seen many reports. I have heard there is a lot of grass on the west side affecting trolling and gill netters impacted the walleye fishing on the east side. Any advice would be appreciated.

fishing Pelee, you should'nt worry about the seaweed situation, it should mostly be gone for the weekend, that was a problem on the NW Point last Sat,, would fish there to start about half mile off shore, out any further things get sparse, fish the north shore, I got 6 on Sat with one past but the bite was light, about 11/2 mile offshore. go to the East side half way down and about a mile off shore is usually a good troll going East for chunky fish, I might be there Sat. myself and go south to Mills Pt and try there, nets are not a problem as most commercial gill netters have already caught there walleye quote for the year, they might be netting perch and junk food for cats.Good luck

Thank you very much for the information. I will likely start at Mill point and troll north and east and see how we do and maybe move further north if needed. If interested, send me your number at [email protected] today and I will let you know how we did on Thursday and Friday as I will not be able to post after this evening.

I have a trip planned on Friday to fish for walleye on and around Mill Point and then smallies half way up on the east side for a couple hours after. I'll be on channel 79 if you're interested in sharing while out there. Just give me a shout and if I have anything going, I'll tell you.

Captain, what do you fish for smallies with? There are a couple of areas just south of the helicopter pad and further south closer to shore are usually pretty good. Peleewalleyeguy.

Captain, what colors do you like best? I find that Bass Pro's pepper mellon works reel (pardon the pun) well. Take a look at our Pelee Club sometime.
Good fishing! Peleewalleyeguy.
