    Default line for tt40

Is 10 lb mono to light for pulling TT 40s. i have 10 lb on my line counters works well for 10 and 20 jet divers and matches precision trolling book. I have been thinking of picking up some TT 40s so I will be letting less line out to get to desired deepth.

    Thanks

If you are using inline boards and TT40's that is a lot of drag.

A break off would be pricy. I think it would hold it, but pushing it.

8# plus fish, drag of board and if you get a board that dives, might be very frustrating.

Default 10 lb Test is fine

I use the old fashion Jet 40's and all my reels are spooled with 10 lb Triline . Pull them behind Church Walleye Boards and have never had a problem with breaking . Use the drag on the reel and you wont have a problem at all .

    Default Braid line

I started out with 10 lb mono on my tru trips years ago and got tired of breaking lines, losing fish and equipment and switched to braid, the only thing I regret is not switching sooner. I have had the same braid on my spools for years without replacing and with mono, I was constantly replacing line. I would absolutely recommend going to braid for longevity of the line if nothing else, but I have also found the hook ups are much better with braid than they were when I used mono. You don't have to set the hook with braid so you catch more of those lite bites. You also get more consistent presentations without the fluctuations of mono in my opinion.

I'm sure you will get some differing opinion but this has been my experience. I think if you are going to troll, braid is the only viable option.

Default braid is a good option. as well

I have a good fishing buddy that loves his 10-4 Fireline . Most guys use the 30-10 Power Pro as well. The 10-4 Fireline is excellent due to being such small diameter. Less line out to the same depths.

I prefer the smaller mono as its more fun and sporting realing the fish in . I think the 30-10 is overkill for walleyes as that is what we use Salmon fishing in Lake Michigan and Ontario.

10 # mono would be to light in my opinion. Most everyone i know and myself uses 30# power pro with 6-8 ft 20# flurocarbon leader that way we are all at the same depth when you get leads from someone else. Dont lose many fish to break offs. I use to use 14# fluro and had a lot off break offs on big fish. also dont go cheap on swivels or use to small sweivels. It all makes a difference at the end of the day. Nothings worse that getting that 30" walleye to the back of the boat to just see him swim away with your 13 dollar jet diver and 6 dollar spoon.
    Good luck
