Weather buoy
I have many weather buoys locked into my web site favorites. The one you are referring to is: NDBC- Station 45005. My only thought on that particular buoy is to take the wave height and multiple by 2. My favorite weather station closest to the action right now is on South Bass Island - NDBC - Station SBI01. The wind is reported frequently and if you look at the reports over the last few hours you get a good idea if the wind is building or laying down.
