    Default Locust jigging

If anyone is out and not catching anything, locust has been on fire all morning. Any color with or without shiners.

    Default Another limit on locust

Another 3 man limit on locust this am. Started fishing at 6:30 and had our limit by 9. Several throw backs as well. It was very rough and hard to keep it on the bottom. 3/4 oz chartreuse jig from dreamcatcher was the trick. I think the red stinger hooks he puts on makes a difference. I did not use shiners. The best drift was the first one in the morning and probably could have limited before sunup if we had out in 30 minutes sooner. Sun up and boat traffic slowed it down a bit. Looking out towards w sister from there appeared to be some clearer water (way out there) unless it was an illusion or something w te clouds. Sat image will tell. Very rough / wet ride back in. Bass boat was swamped out there and was being towed back in.

We caught all of ours on john deer green and purple. Saturday was a good day till the wind started up about 9:30. The night bite was ok but not great.

we picked our 3 man limit in less than an hour on locust today. got one, purple, and black jigs. we were fun fishing when the wind picked up and we headed off. Pulled 7 on the first drift. no need to tip the jig.

We pounded them too. One pass of 400 yards..caught 14 fish in half hour. keep 11 for our 3 guys. then reeled up and went trolling for 4 hours to try for a wall mounter, didn't get it, but managed to catch some fish trolling too. real high in the water column in the warm muddy water. kept the 12 fish and got off the lake Saturday right as the wind blew in.
