Saturday 2/22 Ice condition report

Visited Metzgers & Magee Marsh today. No vehicles at Metzgers as of 8 AM. Parking lot is icy, rutted mess. No shanties out in front of Mienkesn or Metzgers. Went to Magee Marsh/Crane Creek. 70-80 Vehicles in lot. Watched 15 or so ATV's venture out & had no problems. Slush refroze last night. Shanties out on shove line. Have 1 friend 6 miles out SW of West Sister. Waiting to get fish & water clarity report. Time to go get em again

I drove by Metzgers yesterday and the channel look liked crap , really bad at the corner by CC entrance.... is the water over the road gone ???

Still there before club building. probably not as bad as yesterday

Was out yesterday afternoon....Metzger had no vehicles. I would stay away from canals , but I saw only a little water on ward, which surprised me. Couple guys braving winds in marsh. Back out today, at crane/Magee....talked to only one group, and a DNR officer, both gave good reports as far as ice goes.....little slushy on top, no issues. Will see first hand in AM!
