    Default Camping w/ Ramp

    Been awhile since I posted.

Hope winter is treating you all alright.

I have been planing our vacations for the year, one will be to Mammoth Cave, Ky and another one I am toying with is spending two to three nights camping up along the lake for the purpose of fishing and boating.

I am trying to figure out a good place to stay along the western basin for this purpose. I trailer my boat, so a launch ramp at or near the campground is a must, along with allowing parking of the boat. I would be bringing my four kids and wife along, so stuff for the kids when not boating would be a plus. Primitive camping (tent) or a cabin would be good.

Any of you have any favorites!?

    Thanks!

Channel 79, hit me up. Can be caught perch'n or drift'n around the islands when I make it out.

Fenwick marina has very reasonable rates, clean showers, docks, and awesome fish cleaning stations. Not much there other than fishing oriented activities but clean and reasonable. Last season a primitive campsite (no electricity) and launch was $15/ day. Can't beat that.

When we first started going to lake Erie we would pitch a tent on South Bass at the State Park.Plenty for the kids to do,Mom could shop and the boat ramp was right there.Good times for all!!

I would say East Harbor state Park.

I second East Harbor. Has a nice beach there for the kids too.

East Harbor is great if you camp in the pull through sites. More room there for camping equip and boat. Back sites are a little cramped. All in all it is a great place for the family. Well kept and good family atmosphere.
