    Default 5-29 night casting

A little new to night fishing--where is "the hump"

    Default hump

Snook, there are mamy many humps here on the Western Basin.Any of them have the chance of having eyes caught on them at night as the eyes move up to feed on them..
    Good fishing

I know I am looking for 5-10 ft of water surround by deeper water. We will be taking off from Port Clinton and staying on South Bass, so best "hump" if fishing around south Bass and wanting to be back at taverns to have a few cold ones around midnight would be where? Probably south side of South Bass or around Rattlesnake?

The South west corner on Middle Bass by an old brick smoke house there is a finger that runs to the west off of that point, same applies to sugar Island and then there is West Reef which is a bit further.
Just be careful and stay well away from sugar Island when coming in at night it shallows up fast On the western edge. The NNE side of that finger drops off rather fast and makes for a good night spot.

You probably already know this but am going to throw it out there any how. Keep as much noise down as possible. If the eyes move in there should be some surface activity from feeding fish and from baitfish jumping trying to escape the predators that are chasing them, will probably notice jumping minnows or small shad before the big splashes start.
