Didn't our Governor just talk about saving Lake Erie in his state of the state speech and then we find out he zeroed out one of the lead organizations and scientific groups that can help do that? Unbelievable. Sea Grant is doing as much or more than any organization to solve the algae problem and find solutions to the walleye hatches dilemma. I have been to their presentations and sat in meetings where their researchers have presented the good work they are doing to improve and protect our lake. To zero out something that brings in $2 Federal dollars (and $10-$15 grant dollars) for every $1 dollar invested by the state? Who is steering the ship to protect natural resources in this state? Must be a drunken sailor. Let's write our reps and get this turned around.
