Sterling State Park
Went perch fishing Saturday out of Sterling. Had to be at least 50-60 trailers in the lot, only a few were perching, 90% were all trolling. Going back up this weekend for a combo trip. Has anybody heard any reports of what's happening around that area? Hot baits? Speed? Feet back?

The floating and submerged weeds were the biggest problem, 1.4 to 1.7 mph, 25 to 90 back, DDHJ, 800 RR. clown, yellowheaded wonderbread, purple perch, bare naked barbie. 19 to 23 f.o.w.
I can only hope I have earned the freedom that has been given me.

We did have to check for weeds pretty often. In the morning deep huskeyjerks in hot tiger was best and in the afternoon reef runners in clown took over. Best speed was 1.6,at 55fb. The screen was full of fish all day,but only caught 10.

the area to fish is rather large and it is in canada. I don't have GPS coordinates at home but will record them when I get back wed if you want them

it takes 30 mins to get there from sterling if you travel at 27 mph so it isn't that long of a drive and you can get a one day canadian license w/o a sportsman card for 21.31

Just be aware, you can be stopped by the OPP in canadian waters, and by the U.S. border patrol on your way back. I don't fish canadian waters any more since some of the U.S. border patrol agents started being the Gestapo.
anyways, like I mentioned the reef is large, and the greason shoal is also right there.
