    Default burbot caught near kelleys

My girlfriends boy caught a burbot at Kelley's Harbor. I didn't even know these fish exist. What a catch! Caught some nice small mouths too.

This very well could be a burbot, but that distinct spot on the tail and the lack of a smaller second dorsal fin just back of the head leads me to believe it is a bowfin!

We always called them dogfish, ugly green color, when you cut them open the meat is green inside as well. Nasty little devils as they will eat anything they can get in their mouth, damn good fighters though, fun to catch!

I looked it up on the internet, alot of the pics had different markings on them. But some of them had that round circle on the tail. That sucker had teeth in him too. i should of got some better pics of him.
