I got an email from them as well with this info, very interesting here its the weblink for those who do not get emails from the Michigan DNR:
http://content.govdelivery.com/bulle...d/MIDNR-496f72
In summary it says of 417 samples taken 6 came back positive for eDNA for wither Bighead or Silver species of asian carp. 4 where in Sandusky bay and 2 where in Maumee bay, they have been shocking Sandusky but have not found any samples yet.
It may only be a matter of time before we find out what will happen, I don't think there is too much we can do now. Maybe the local Pike population will experience a boom if they develop a taste for them if they are indeed there. Have not heard too much about eDNA tests, don't know if there is a chance of somehow getting a false positive or something like that out of them or not.
