    Default recommended gear?

i first want to apologize as I post a lot of questions on here. I feel like an idiot but as I'm not terribly experienced. I wanted to ask what you guys prefer for Rods/reels for drifting bottom bouncers w/ harnesses. I mostly have M or MH spinning 6'6" rods/reels using 8lb fireline.

what do you guys recommend works best

I second that, they will work just fine!

Please don't feel that you have to apologize for asking questions, and don't feel or think yourself an Idiot you are not!!! The only thing that you are right about and nailed with your post is your lack of experience and with the help of all the combined experience and comments from the members of this site your learning curve will be shortened considerably. That is what this site is all about, helping fellow fishermen get started and becoming successful fishermen. I can't speak for the other members but it makes me feel good to be able to help you and others like you get the answers to the questions they have!!

    Default mono line

The only thing different I run is that all my bottom bouncer rods are rigged with 10 lb mono line. Braid is ok but I feel that the mono gives alittle when the bite is soft and the mono will stretch. The rods are fine. I run the med action on the down side and the MH rods you can run them on the wind side.
