    Default north winds

So new to this site even thigh I've been hanging around for about a year now. Just got my first boat last July, 21' trophy cuddy with 150hp. I guess my question is to all the knowledgeable slippers is what to bad of a north wind to go out in. Last year I went out couple times in north and it seemed like I got my face badges in even though it called for 2ft or less. I'm looking at going out Friday through Sunday for first trip just got boat unwinterized. Any help would be much appreciative.

Welcome aboard captain polish! I Just took a quick look at weather dot com and If the forecast holds and does not change then all 3 days should be fishable with Sat the toughest day.

    Skyys the Limit:
Sunday looks like a really good day so far! If you go out tomorrow be sure that you will have enough water to return to your departure spot as a west wind in the mid 20 mphs will lower the water at almost all of the marinas on the western end of the lake. Be careful out there as no fish is worth the loss of your boat and especially your life.

    captain polish:
Weather dot com is calling for Friday East winds at 10mph, Saturday NE at 8 mph and Sunday south at 10 mph.

But wind surf is telling a different story, here's the link.

    Wakina,

I agree with you, I have 5' of water under the boat in the channel that I dock @, but I will not make a mistake in going out if i'm not sure of my return, I appreciate your advise, always being safe first for me & my crew is my goal, I'll play it by ear! thanks again for your input! If I would go out tomorrow and that wind would set in I would not be able to get back in the river as the channel was only 2 ft deep last sunday with that north wind blowing about 10 knots. So with a high west or northeast wind I am hit, all I can do is drink beer. I was not being critical of you and only wanted to give you a heads up just in case you have never left port with a high west wind.

Yeah judging by the weather wakina they have no clue like usual. It always seems like a shot in the dark to me one says it will be perfect other says batten down the hatches.
